- enilconazole — 100 mg
Description:
A thick, transparent, light-yellow solution.
Pharmacological properties:
Enilconazole is a synthetic broad-spectrum fungicide active against various types of pathogenic micromycetes, including the causative agents of trichophytosis and microsporia: Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton equinum, Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum.
The active substance selectively inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol — the main component of the cell membrane of micromycetes and yeasts. This leads to irreversible changes in their cell walls.
When applied locally and externally, enilconazole has low systemic availability, is poorly absorbed through the skin, and penetrates tissues only in small amounts. It is eliminated from the animal’s body mainly in urine and faeces. The elimination half-life is 12–16 hours.
Indications for use:
Treatment of horses, dogs, and cats with dermatomycoses caused by microorganisms sensitive to enilconazole.
Directions for use:
Before use, mix the product with warm water at a ratio of 1:50 to obtain a 2% working emulsion.
Moisten a brush or soft cloth with the working emulsion and gently clean the affected skin areas and the surrounding zones from crusts and dirt. After cleaning, cover these areas with the emulsion.
For dogs and cats, apply the product against the direction of hair growth. Small-breed animals may be immersed in a container with the treatment emulsion. Long-haired animals should be clipped before treatment.
Dosage and treatment course:
Treatment is carried out 4 times at intervals of 3–4 days. In severe cases, the treatment course may be extended after consultation with a veterinarian.
Contraindications:
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any excipients of the product.
