Cestal Plus by Ceva — Anthelmintic Tablets for Dogs
Cestal Plus is a combined broad-spectrum anthelmintic product for dogs, intended for the treatment and prevention of nematode and cestode infections. The product paralyzes helminths and promotes their natural elimination from the body.
Description:
Oval or round flat tablets ranging from light yellow to grey-brown in color, with a central score line.
Composition:
Active ingredients (per 1 tablet):
- praziquantel — 50 mg
- pyrantel embonate — 144 mg
- fenbendazole — 200 mg
Excipients:
- cetyl palmitate
- lactose monohydrate
- pre-gelatinized starch
- sodium starch glycolate
- dried yeast
- liver flavoring
- magnesium stearate
Pharmacological properties:
Cestal Plus is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic (ATCvet QP52A). The combination of praziquantel, pyrantel embonate, and fenbendazole ensures efficacy against round and tapeworms.
Praziquantel is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and disrupts the permeability of tapeworm membranes, leading to paralysis and death.
Pyrantel embonate causes spastic paralysis of roundworms through neuromuscular blockade and is excreted from the body via feces and urine within 24 hours.
Fenbendazole disrupts glucose transport, microtubular function, and energy metabolism in helminths, resulting in their death.
Indications for use:
Prevention and treatment of helminth infections in dogs, including:
- nematodoses: toxocariasis, toxascaridiasis, uncinariasis, hookworm infection, trichocephalosis
- cestodoses: dipylidiasis, diphyllobothriasis, echinococcosis, taeniasis
Dosage:
Administer orally as a single dose at 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight (equivalent to: praziquantel — 5 mg/kg, pyrantel embonate — 14.4 mg/kg, fenbendazole — 20 mg/kg).
- 2–5 kg — 1/2 tablet
- 5–10 kg — 1 tablet
- 10–20 kg — 2 tablets
- 20–30 kg — 3 tablets
- 30–40 kg — 4 tablets
- 40–50 kg — 5 tablets
Method of administration:
Tablets are administered orally or mixed with food. No fasting is required prior to administration.
For prevention, administer once every 3 months. For treatment, a single dose is sufficient; in cases of heavy infestation, repeat after 14 days.
Thanks to the liver flavoring, the tablets are readily accepted by most dogs.

Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the components, in weakened or ill dogs, or in puppies under 4 weeks of age. Use with caution in animals with cachexia.
Side effects:
None reported.
