Vectra® Felis Insecticidal Drops for Cats
Vectra® Felis is a комбінований insecticidal product for topical use in cats.
Composition:
0.9 ml contains:
dinotefuran — 423 mg,
pyriproxyfen — 42.3 mg.
Description:
clear pale-yellow solution.
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet QP53 — ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents.
Dinotefuran is a neonicotinoid neurotoxin acting on postsynaptic acetylcholine receptors of the nervous system, leading to the death of ectoparasites.
Pyriproxyfen is a juvenile hormone analog regulating insect growth and development, including fleas, disrupting their normal metamorphosis cycle.
After topical application, the active ingredients accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles, and sebaceous glands, providing long-lasting contact insecticidal-acaricidal and repellent action.
Indications:
treatment of cats infested with fleas (Siphonaptera spp.) at all life stages (egg–larva–pupa–adult).
May be used as part of a comprehensive program for the treatment and prevention of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
Dosage:
Apply topically to dry, intact skin in an area inaccessible for licking (between the shoulder blades).
One pipette is intended for one animal at the minimum recommended dose of 42.3 mg dinotefuran/kg body weight and 4.23 mg pyriproxyfen/kg body weight.
Directions for use:
- Remove the pipette from the package.
- Hold upright and press the cap to pierce the protective membrane.
- Part the hair until the skin is visible and apply directly to the skin, avoiding contact with fur.
A single treatment protects against fleas for at least 1 month. Repeat treatment after 30 days. In cases of heavy infestation, treatment may be repeated after 2 weeks upon veterinary advice.
Contraindications:
do not use in kittens under 7 weeks of age or weighing less than 0.6 kg, or in case of hypersensitivity.
Use with caution in debilitated, sick, or pregnant animals after veterinary consultation.
Precautions:
avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to wet or damaged skin. Do not bathe the animal for 48 hours after treatment. If several cats are kept together, treat them simultaneously.
Storage:
store in a dry, dark place out of reach of children at 0–25 °C.
Shelf life: 3 years.
