Combined drug in the form of a suspension for oral use in the treatment of dogs and cats in case of inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune and other diseases of the skin and joints.

Pharmacological properties

Triamcinolone — synthetic fluorine-containing glucocorticoid with pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, desensitizing and anti-toxic effects.

Anti-inflammatory properties are due to the stabilization of cell membranes, including labrocytes and organelles (lysosomes), inhibition of phospholipase A2 activity, cessation of the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids of cell membranes and a decrease in the level of its metabolic products.

Suppresses hyaluronidase, inhibits the division of labrocytes and reduces their degranulation, suppresses the synthesis of platelet activation factor and the proliferation of connective tissue. Due to the decrease in the number of T- and B-lymphocytes, disruption of their interaction, stopping the migration of B-lymphocytes, it provides an immunosuppressive and anti-allergic effect. Reduces the content of immunoglobulins in the blood serum, suppresses the cooperation of phagocytes and lymphocytes.

The anti-shock and anti-toxic effect is based on the reduction of vascular endothelium permeability, membrane-protective properties and activation of liver enzymes involved in the metabolism of endo- and xenobiotics.

The bioavailability of triamcinolone after oral administration is 20-30%. The action begins after 1-2 hours and lasts for 6-8 hours. The half-life from blood serum is 2-5 hours, from tissues — 18-36 hours. Triamcinolone is 40% bound to blood serum proteins, mainly to globulins. Metabolized in the liver, a small amount — in the kidneys It is excreted from the body mainly with urine in the form of inactive metabolites.

Methionine — an essential amino acid, is a source of sulfhydryl and methyl groups, has a lipotropic effect (prevents the accumulation of fat in the liver with a deficiency of choline, which is involved in the synthesis of phospholipids). Neutralizes toxic metabolic products by means of methylation and transsulfuration.

Succinic acid accelerates the regeneration of damaged skin cells, stimulates and normalizes energy and plastic exchanges, has an antitoxic effect, enhances biochemical and physiological regeneration processes in the epidermis and eliminates metabolic acidosis in tissues.

Vitamins of group B play an important role in metabolism, participate in cellular oxidation-reduction reactions of amino acids. These vitamins significantly improve the condition of the skin, especially with seborrheic dermatitis and pellagra. They are easily absorbed in the small intestine and are excreted in the urine in the form of various metabolites.

Indication

Treatment of dogs and cats for inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune and other skin and joint diseases. 

Method of application and dosage

Before use, the bottle with the drug is thoroughly shaken and used orally once a day, during morning feeding with a small amount of feed or injected directly at the root of the tongue using a dosing syringe. Doses of the drug for the treatment of animals in the first 4 days are given in the table.

For treatment in the next 8 days, the dose is halved. After agreement with the veterinarian, the treatment period can be extended.

Disclaimer

When using the drug in the recommended doses, side effects and complications are not observed. Occasionally, individual animals may experience vomiting, depression, excessive salivation, and gastrointestinal disorders. In these cases, the use of the drug should be stopped.

Contraindications

Do not prescribe to animals sensitive to the active substances of the drug, for systemic fungal lesions, acute infectious diseases, diabetes, pregnant and lactating animals, kittens under 2 months of age, puppies under 3 months of age.

Do not use during vaccination periods, especially with live antiviral vaccines and simultaneously with other corticosteroid drugs.

Storage conditions

In a dry, dark place inaccessible to children, at temperatures from +4 to +25 °C.

After opening the bottle, use the drug within 28 days.
