Ingredients

1 g of the drug contains the following active ingredients:
permethrin 10.0 mg, triamcinolone acetonide 1.0 mg, neomycin sulfate 500 IU, nystatin 100,000 IU;

Excipients: polyethylene wax, mineral oil.

Pharmacological properties

OTIGEL® is an antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antifungal and anti-inflammatory drug in the form of a gel for external use.

Neomycin sulphate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic with bactericidal effect against gram-positive and most gram-negative microorganisms: Staphylococcus albus, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella spp., Proteus, E.coli, Pseudomonas, etc.

Nystatin belongs to the group of polyene antibiotics, has fungistatic and fungicidal effects. Nystatin is active against: Malassezia spp., Candida spp., Cryptococcus spp., Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton spp. etc.

Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid characterised by anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and sedative effects.

Permethrin is a synthetic type I pyrethroid with acaricidal and insecticidal properties. It disrupts the functioning of sodium channels and blocks the transmission of nerve impulses in insects. Otodectes cynotis mites are particularly sensitive to permethrin.

Application

Treatment of dogs and cats suffering from otitis media and dermatitis of the external auditory canal caused by bacteria, fungi and mites susceptible to neomycin, permethrin and nystatin.

Dosing

Before using OTIGEL, it is necessary to perform hygienic cleaning of the external auditory canal. To use OTIGEL, attach the soft nozzle to the aluminium tube. Inject a small amount of the drug (pea-sized) into the ear canal, then gently
massage gently at the base of the ear. Remove excess drug near the auricle OTIGEL® is used once daily for 10 days. If necessary, the course of treatment should be repeated. The drug must be administered in both ears, even if one ear is affected.

Contraindications

Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the drug components, as well as with perforation of the eardrum. Do not administer to cats weighing less than 1.5 kg and kittens under 8 weeks of age.

Warnings

Before using the drug, check the integrity of the eardrum.
After treatment with the drug, mild to moderate redness of the ear may occur, which does not require specific therapy. In some cases, hearing impairment has been observed, usually temporarily, and primarily in older animals. Cats may experience very rare neurological
rare cases, neurological clinical symptoms such as ataxia and tremors may occur. In this case, treatment should be discontinued. After discontinuation of the drug, these symptoms disappear.

Pharmaceutical form

15 g in an aluminium tube with a long spout, with a plastic bush.
One tube together with a leaflet insert and a soft nozzle is placed in a cardboard pack.

Storage

Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.
Shelf life - 2 years in the unopened original packaging.
No more than 28 days after opening the tube.
