Application:
Prevention and treatment of dogs and cats affected by: fleas (Ctenocephalides felis, St. canis, Pulex irritans), lice (Linognathus setosus), hair-eaters (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus) and parasitic mites (Ixodes spp., Hyalomma spp., Dermacentor spp.) ., Haemaphysalis spp., Rhipicephalus spp., Boophilus calcaratus).
Can be used as one of the means in the treatment of allergic flea dermatitis.
Dosage:
For external use. One collar is designed for one animal only.
Open the packaging with the collar, unfold it, fasten it loosely around the neck of the dog or cat so that there is a small gap (2 fingers) between the neck and the collar, then close it with a buckle. The collar should be loose on the neck and not restrict the growth of the animal. The length of the collar is adjustable depending on the size of the animal.
Constant use of the collar protects the animal from ectoparasites for 7 months. If the effectiveness of the collar decreases, it should be replaced with a new one. Before bathing animals, it is advisable to remove the collar, as significant moisture of the animal's fur and skin (rain, bathing, swimming) reduces the effectiveness of the collar. For medium and large dog breeds – collar 70 cm long, for small breeds of dogs and cats – 35 cm.
Composition:
One collar contains active substances:
- imidacloprid – 10%;
- flumethrin – 4.5%.
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet QP53, ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents (QP53AC55, flumethrin, combinations).
The pharmaceutical effect of the collar is due to the properties of the active substances: imidacloprid and flumethrin.
Imidacloprid, an ectoparasiticide, belongs to the group of chlornicotinyl compounds. It has a high affinity for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the postsynaptic areas of the nervous system of fleas. Interruption of nerve impulse transmission leads to paralysis and death of wingless insects: larvae and adults of fleas (Ctenocephalides canis, Ct. felis, Pulex irritans), lice (Linognathus setosus), hair eaters (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus).
Imidacloprid has a low level of penetration through the blood-brain barrier, so it practically does not affect the central nervous system of mammals. Flumethrin – ectoparasiticide of the synthetic group of pyrethroids with high acaricidal activity. Synthetic pyrethroids interact with sodium tubules of nerve cell membranes, resulting in depolarization of nerve endings, which leads to the death of the parasite. Flumethrin does not show anticholinesterase activity. The polymer tape of the collar provides constant and slow release of active substances in a stable concentration of active substances from the collar to the animal's coat. Thus, the acaricidal and insecticidal concentration of active substances on the animal's coat is stable throughout the effectiveness of the collar.
The collar is well tolerated by animals, does not show a local irritant and skin resorptive effect.
Contraindications:
- do not use on sick and weakened animals;
- do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- do not apply to puppies under 7 weeks of age, kittens – up to 10 weeks;
- do not use in females during pregnancy and lactation.
Disclaimer:
- Open the packaging with the collar immediately before use.
- In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal owner to the active substances, in the presence of scratches and skin damage on the hands, rubber gloves should be used.
- After handling the collar, hands should be thoroughly washed with warm water and soap.
- Sometimes animals with hypersensitivity to imidacloprid or flumethrin may experience skin irritation when using the collar. In such cases, the use of the collar is stopped.
Form of issue:
The collar is hermetically packed in a polymer film and placed in a cardboard box. For medium and large dog breeds – collar 70 cm long, for small breeds of dogs and cats – 35 cm.
Storage:
Store the collar in a closed package in a dry place inaccessible to children and animals, separate from food and feed at temperatures from 0 to 25 degrees C.
Expiry date:
The shelf life in a closed package is 5 years, after opening the package – 6 months.
