The tablets are flat cylindrical with beveled edges, with a notch for division on one side and the manufacturer's logo on the other, yellow in color with a weak characteristic smell.
Composition:
One tablet (1 g) Brovanol®-M contains: niclosamide - 92 mg; oxybendazole - 12 mg; levamisole hydrochloride - 16 mg; special filler - 880 mg.
Pharmacological action:
The drug has the combined pharmacological properties of three components that provide a wide range of antiparasitic action, namely:
- Niclosamide when administered orally is not absorbed from the alimentary canal and upon contact with tapeworms inhibits oxidation-phosphorolytic processes, which leads to weakening and rapid death of scolex and segments of parasites that are partially digested and leave;
- oxybendazole in nematodes disrupts the metabolism of carbohydrates, blocking the formation of ATP, which causes paralysis and death of parasites at all stages of development already a few hours after administration.
- levamisole potentiates the nematocidal effect of oxybendazole and is an effective immunomodulator and promotes the formation of a high level of post-vaccination immunity after vaccination.
Application:
To dogs and cats for the treatment of mixed infestations caused by larvae and adult helminths of the alimentary tract: hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), dipylidiosis (Dipylidium caninum), diphyllobothriasis (Diphyllobothrium latum, D. minus), toxocariasis (Toxocara canis, T. cati), toxascariasis (Toxascaris leonina), trichocephalosis (Trichocephalus vulpis and T. nutpia), taenia (Taenia hydatigena, T. multiceps), uncinariasis (Uncinaria stenoctphala), and some others.
If the presence of ectoparasites (fleas, lice, ticks) is confirmed in dogs simultaneously with helminthiasis, then Brovanol®-plus should be used instead of Brovanol®-M.
Dosage:
For puppies and kittens - one tablet of Brovanol® -M for 4 kg. The indicated dose should be divided in half and given at daily intervals.
Puppies are first dewormed before vaccination at the age of 4-5 weeks, kittens - at the age of 6 weeks. In the future, preventive treatment in the specified doses should be carried out every 3-4 months.
Contraindications:
Intestinal atony.
Disclaimer:
