Simparika - a chewable tablet with the taste of liver, is a drug of a new generation to protect dogs from fleas and ticks. Thanks to its effectiveness, after 8 hours after application, the product shows activity against all types of fleas that parasitize dogs, and after 12 hours it shows an effect on ticks.
After taking, the drug is absorbed into the dog's bloodstream, the maximum concentration of the toxin in the plasma is reached after three hours. Sarolaner affects the nervous system of parasites, which leads to their death. During the first 12 hours, all present pests die. Subsequent intoxications by ticks are possible, but the insect dies before it has time to lay eggs in the fur of a four-legged friend, thus reducing the risk of ectoparasite contamination of the animal's bedding and habitat. The drug Simparika against ticks, fleas for dogs and dogs is available in different dosages, based on the weight of the dog:
- weight 1.3-2.5 kg - one 5 mg tablet;
- weight 2.6-5.0 kg - one tablet of 10 mg;
- weight 5.1-10.0 kg - one tablet of 20 mg;
- weight 10.1-20.0 kg - the drug contains 40 mg of the active substance;
- weight 20.1-40.0 kg - the drug contains 80 mg of the active ingredient;
- weight 40.1-60.0 kg - the drug contains 120 mg of the active ingredient.
- Dogs whose weight exceeds 60 kg - use a combination of the drug Simparika.
Let's assume the treatment of tick infestations in puppies no earlier than 8 weeks of age.
An important aspect of antiparasitic therapy is the correct use of the drug: the dog must completely eat the Simparika tablet. As a rule, there are no problems with this, since the medicine has an appetizing liver taste. If you are the owner of a very capricious four-legged friend, it is recommended to mix the pill into the food. In order to maintain effectiveness, it is forbidden to divide the tablet.
Anti-flea therapy is carried out monthly during the period of activity of ectoparasites, therefore we recommend buying Simparika tick tablets with the onset of the first warm days, the price depends on the distributor. Since Sarolaner is characterized by low toxicity, side effects from taking Simparika are minimized. However, if you notice individual intolerance of the animal to the components of the product, the treatment must be stopped. A bed bug is not a parasite from the bites of which the drug protects.
